A digital tribute to the life, work, and spirit of Candi Collucci — a celebrated fashion illustrator, mother, and creative force.
THE STORY:
Candi Collucci was more than an artist — she was a visionary. Her illustrations captured movement, elegance, and emotion with a single stroke. After a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease, she passed away in April 2023.
This project wasn’t just a website.
It was a love letter.
Built by her daughter to preserve her legacy and share her art with the world.
THE SCOPE OF WORK:
Squarespace E-Commerce Website Design
Legacy Art Curation + High-Resolution Artwork Restoration
Merchandise Design (Printify-integrated)
Dropshipping Setup
Payment Processor Integration
THE STRATEGY:
1. Art Preservation & Digital Restoration:
Hundreds of original illustrations were lovingly scanned, retouched, and color-corrected to preserve their richness and precision.
Special care was taken to maintain the integrity of the linework and paper textures — so her hand still feels present.
2. Website Design (Squarespace):
Minimalist layout to let the artwork speak
Biographical section that tells Candi’s story with honesty and grace
Gallery-style image grids, curated by theme and era
Soft neutral palette to complement her signature color use, not compete with it
3. Online Store & Product Design:
Merchandise featuring Candi’s artwork — including apparel, prints, accessories, and home goods
Designed with care to ensure each piece felt like a canvas, not just a product
Fully integrated with Printify for on-demand production and shipping
4. Seamless Checkout Experience:
Stripe + PayPal integration
Mobile-optimized, quick load times, and secure transactions
THE IMPACT:
A permanent online archive of Candi’s work
A fully functioning online store — keeping her art alive in everyday life
Emotional reactions from friends, former colleagues, and fashion fans
On a personal note:
This wasn’t a typical design project.
It was an act of remembrance.
Built not just with pixels and code — but with reverence, intention, and love.
As her daughter, creating this site wasn’t just about preserving the past.
It was about making sure her art keeps living.
